Welcome
Hello and welcome to tomlewer.co.uk. As you might have guessed, my name is Tom Lewer and as you might not have guessed, I am a blues and boogie woogie pianist from Dorset, UK.
A little bit about me:
I started learning the piano when I was eight, and soon afterwards got interested in blues and boogie woogie. I learnt to play these styles of music mainly by ear, by listening to the original players (boogie woogie was at its most popular in the 1940s), and also had lessons from some contemporary artists including Dorset based boogie woogie pianist Julian Phillips.
I began playing occasional gigs in pubs and other local venues. More recently I have been lucky enough to be able to perform at larger concerts and festivals, both in the UK and Europe. Most recently I performed at a boogie woogie night in Lille alongside French jazz pianist Yvon Momboisse and Swiss rock’n'roll band Hamp Goes Wild, which you can read about here (if you can read French or use Google Translate.)
I’ve recently finished recording a CD of my music. Although it’s not yet available in good record stores, you can buy it online – you can download it or order the hard copy here, or if iTunes is your thing it’s there too.

Take care,
Tom
